The responsibilities of the Albanian Power Corporation for safety and health at work are in accordance with state regulations and norms sanctioned in the Regulation on Safety and Technical Use for Plants, Equipment and Electrical Installations. Pursuant to this regulation, KESH has made its predictions in its organizational structure, integrating the relevant functions at the Central level and Production Unit.
The purpose of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System is to enhance the safety of employees in their workplaces and to protect their health and welfare and other persons (the public) who may be exposed to the risks of the activity of the Albanian Power Corporation.
The main risks that KESH employees are exposed to working directly at power plants include mainly electric shocks, explosions of pressure equipment, falls from altitude, chemical, biological and carcinogenic effects, noise. , mechanical vibration, electrostatic fields, ionizing and optical radiation, etc.
The Regulation on Technical Safety and Health Protection at Work sanctions:
• Risk assessment and necessary measures (competent tools and staff) for training employees on occupational
safety and health, including providing qualified first aid and transportation to the nearest hospital center.
• Provision of work tools, equipment and protective clothing for employees (certified according to IP safety norms) and
provision of suitable working conditions (ventilation, heating, sufficient lighting, furniture, etc.)
• Prepare and install signage to tell employees what they need to know about maintaining health and safety at work;
• Employee insurance for accidents at work including road accidents when the employee travels to the workplace and for
those affected by occupational diseases.
• Registration and reporting of accidents at work and those affected by occupational diseases as well as hazardous cases
that may occur.
• Assessing the risk of harming employees from hazardous substances and setting up warning signs and implementing
relevant regulations recommended by their supplier.
While recognizing and enforcing the rules of technical safety and health protection at work is a permanent task of KESH staff, the management of the Occupational Safety and Health System includes in itself continuous improvement and ever-increasing service. qualified to employees at the level of time requirements.
